Off like a herd of turtles

Today was mostly a driving day. We left at 10 am and got all the way to the Opahumpka rest stop on the Florida Turnpike before we had to have our 1st stop :-) We made several others along the way until we pulled through Tallahassee and found a cool Kampground of America (aka "KOA") where we made a new friend, Tanner (the right-most kid). It's all dirt roads, but we managed to find a short strip of sidewalk where we could use our Rip-Stick skateboards. Tanner took to it like a duck to water until his mom ordered him to stop. So he borrowed Joe's skateboard (a 4-wheeler, not 2-wheeler like what I'm holding in the picture). We gave him a 10-commandments coin (http://www.livingwaters.com/) and a gospel tract. Tanner will be eight years old on 1/28/08. Soon it got dark, so we had to quit and eat dinner. We had some grilled "Rottweilers" (as Grandpa Gene calls them), but you probably know them better as "bratwursts." Tomorrow we are heading for Pensacola (maybe stop at the naval air museum if there's RV parking) and then onto New Orleans. (Blogged by Daniel
